À la rencontre du blues maron

Blues and Maloya, both born of slavery on two continents, grew up apart like distant brothers. At the Blues Maron festival they finally meet, and discover their shared roots: pain, resistance, the voice as first instrument. American and Réunionese artists bear witness to these parallel histories, between clandestinity, spirituality and catharsis. For all their different rhythms, the two musics recognise one another and come together. Their reunion reveals one deep common origin, and one same power to heal.
